EL Wire, also known as Electroluminescent wire is a stiff wire core coated with phosphor and then covered with a protective PVC sheath. When an AC signal is applied to it, it glows an aqua (blue green) color. It looks a little like thin neon. Very bendable, it keeps its shape and you can curl it around your finger.

Nothing is going to be as thin and flexible as this wire - it feels a little like waxed thread but can carry current! You could use this in wearables or very fine assemblies where weight and bulk is at a premium. Silicone wires are flexible but aren't as thin. Wire-wrapping wire is thin but isn't flexible. The covering for the wire is Teflon so its good from -80 to +105 degrees C Comes in a spool with 10 meters of extremely thin (32AWG!) wire.
